Summer Pesto Swap

Published by

Sort of boring but always seasonally amazing the first batch of basil is ready for pesto. Gonna switch it up and swap the pine nuts for a different nut. Hazelnuts? Almonds? Thoughts? Discuss!

And if you’re looking for another switch to your pesto recipe, here’s one that swaps the basil for spinach from Mad Hungry.

Nuts with pesto is the best option. If you combine this with noodles… Got a dinner of god! :D.

Though I like pine nuts more in a pesto, I think hazelnut is the best swap to it. Looks like you will have a delicious pesto.

    Hi Lucinda,

Want you to know that attending the book tour/cooking demo this spring with my daughter in DC remains a highlight of my year!!!

I am having so much fun trying recipes from the new book. Please tell your son that the beet, carrot and watercress salad is a big hit with us! Making good use of our CSA share with that one!
