Recipes From Today’s Show: Simple Japanese Restaurant Menu

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: The flavors of Japanese cuisine are a big culinary inspiration for me, and today I’m sharing three of my favorite authentic recipes. Crispy pork tonkatsu (a breaded and deep-fried pork chop) is sliced and drizzled with a sweet and fresh dashi-mirin sauce. On the side: simple and light cabbage salad and my warm soba salad tossed with mushrooms and crisp cucumbers.

    Lauren Tempera,

Can you explain what “new series”means? I hope Lucinda will still be cooking with family and friends. That’s why Mad Hungry is special. Just give us more Mad Hungry.

Didn’t have the mushrooms to make the Soba Salad. Cooked the noodles and made the dressing, then threw in chopped cucumber, carrots, scallions, cilantro, and red bell pepper with the cooled noodles. Crispy and quite good!
