Recipes from Today’s Show: Minestrone Soup
TODAY on MHTV: I’m making the mother of all soups: minestrone. The flavor gets built from the bottom up: sauteing onions and garlic, adding other veggies like zucchini, cauliflower, & tomatoes and to really give this soup an extra flavor boost, tossing in a Parmesan cheese rind– adding one of these in a soup is a great way to create a deep flavor, especially if you’re not using meat. On the side, my grandmother’s recipe for English muffin tidbits is perfect for dipping and one of my mad hungry boys drops in unexpectedly with a big bag of laundry and an even bigger appetite. More from the show.

LSQ, you are great! I love watching your show. I’ve tried many of your recipes because they are comfortable & full of flavor. Your personality shines through & I feel like I’m in your kitchen with you. True star qualities!
Today, I sent an email to Food Network telling them they should watch out because your star shines brighter than many of their food stars!
Have a good day!

Not only like watching Lucinda make her easy down to earth recipes but also wanted to mention how much my sister and I like the tops she wears.
Okay, that was the sweetest episode ever! I hope my 2 yr old son treats me with the same love and respect when he gets older the way Calder treats his mom LSQ! Thanks for sharing that recipe, too,

I agree with Michelle! It was so nice to see a son love ad respect his mother so much. Very touching! By the way, I’m about to try the minestrone recipe right now.
I DISCOVERED YOU A FEW MONTHS AGO, I AM 69 AND I’VE DISCOVERED A WHOLE NEW WAY OF COOKING WITH YOU, YOU PRESENT THINGS DOWN TO EARTH FOR US COMMON PEOPLE,I REALLY ENJOY YOUR SHOWS.WISH YOU HAD MORE AIR TIME…
Just made the minestrone soup minus the zucchini and using frozen cauliflower florets and green beans. I also added dried hot peppers. Absolutely delicious, easy to follow recipe and relatively quick to make. Thanks and wish I could watch the show but I do not receive the channel.
