Recipes From Today’s Show: The Perfect Burger

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: At CQ’s college graduation party we served the best turkey burgers (check out the pics above) and today he’s coming by to help me recreate them. I’ve got a couple tricks to keeping these burgers moist and juicy (pickle juice is one), and a whole bunch of condiments to add on top like homemade beer-spring onion mustard. To round out this ultimate burger bar, pickled carrots are tangy, crunchy and delicious.

Well it’s official, Emeril’s Table is not coming back!!! So why can’t Mad Hungry just say that???? Oh that’s right, cookbook is coming out. Nice way to treat your fans.

I’m really sad to hear that Mad Hungry is not going back into production. We’ve been asking this since January and now we were told (through phone calls) repeats through 2013. Please tell Hallmark Channel we want another batch of new episodes.

    Thanks,
    Ruth

why is “fan of the show” carol being so hateful in her comment? purposefully making bad karma for herself in lieu of the quick shot of high gained from being ugly is such a cruel selfish shortsighted choice. you do not deserve that, lucinda. i believe i speak for many as i type to say thank you so very very very much for giving us such a wonderful show. insightful. entertaining. useful. accessible for all cooking skill levels. big mountain of a great run, lucinda. i hope your blog and future cookbooks continue to be a part of our love-of-food world for years and years to come. “when one door closes…” 🙂 you know the saying, yes? best of everything sent to you and your family~

I don’t feel Carol is being hateful at all. Yes, since January, loyal viewers were told “Mad Hungry” is alive and well. We trudged through 7 months of repeats, always hearing, changes of the shows format were being worked on, etc. We all stated, leave well enough alone, and keep doing the Mad Hungry we love. Also, anyone in the business world knows, you try to keep a brand going. But if they did care about their fans, they should say something. It’s terrible to have to call and email the Hallmark Channel to find the answers. To IG: did you call the Hallmark Channel and tell them to let LSQ make make Mad Hungry episodes?? I know many who have. I hope Mad Hungry will continue else where, there is a nice size audience to follow Lucinda where ever she goes.

Maybe Mad Hungry is under contract at Hallmark until a certain time and can be shown (ALL NEW EPISODES) when it moves somewhere else. Keep the blog going LSQ, we love you and the show.

To Nancy: yes, i emailed two times and i called once. i agree with you wholeheartedly on this crazy dance we were forced to participate in with hallmark. with regard to carol… if i may respectfully add… this is lucinda’s blog. it is not her fault that hallmark has handled things so disrespectfully/mysteriously. we do not know what went down. we do not know if lucinda was told the truth. we do not know whose hands (if any) were tied to release the information we were all looking for, Nancy. we do not know what promises were made or broken, what was contractually not allowed, what deals may have actually been in the works and then dropped due to unexpected circumstances, etc. we only know our frustration. to automatically not consider there may be forces or decisions at work here that we do not know of AND also take offense to it in such a sarcastic way only speaks to the source of said comment. i promise you… i promise you… NO decision maker gives comments of that type any minute’s thought. BUT since this is not hallmark’s blog, did carol really think hallmark will read her words? if i were a betting girl, i would say, “no”. she was just pissed off and wanted to vent. sharing an offense so cynically and not caring how or what lucinda thought or felt upon reading same smells a lot like how hallmark treated us mad hungry fans. selfish. uncaring. unsympathetic. ungrateful. for all we know, only dear lucinda and her family and her peers and her personal friends and fans read this blog. why bring up and throw dirt on lucinda’s excitement about the cookbook she worked hard to write? assumptions are ugly. there are more effective civilized constructive ways to be an activist and, sadly, carol did not choose any of those. just my thoughts. just an opinion. thank you for taking time out to share your’s and give me a 2nd opportunity to clarify. a wonderful 4th to you and your’s, Nancy. cheers~ 🙂

I’m going with Carol on this one. Any time I asked about the show, my comments/questions were never answered, but I was always told the exciting things “Open Sky” was selling . I like so many, hope the show continues on, but there could have been a better way of handling the fans. As for IG, I get the “cookbook” comment made by Nancy, I’ve seen so many comments gone unanswered, but the “cookbook” gets thrown in when it doesn’t pertain to viewer comments. Of course Hallmark doesn’t look at this blog, they would have seen how much people “did” care about the show. “MH” staffers should have been forwarding every comment about the show returning to them. Happy 4th to you too. Pat

    Hey IG,

Scroll back to May 25, 2012, blog. Read the comments by “Lo” who is part of the Mad Hungry team. What were viewers to think? Yes there will be a show??? Why would they be “developing” if nothing is going to happen???? Very odd. With all of today’s comments, lets see if they are eventually addressed.

Let’s hope MH can continue on another network after Hallmark Channel is finished with them. Hallmark Channel not to bright to treat MH that way.

fair enough. i suppose it will have to be an agree to disagree moment here… the way i look at it, we are all very blessed to be in a position where something like this ranks as a problem. i just chose to overlook the –not well played– hand of hallmark and forego feeling offended. nothing more. perhaps i should have allowed carol the carol the same liberty. timely considering the 4th is soon upon us, yes? 🙂 i appreciate the back and forth type. props to all with one last thank you to lucinda for giving us something to miss! alright. i have got to quit lovin’ on my madhungry and get back to work here… final bye, everyone!

I’m just hoping “MH” will continue on somewhere else in the future. This is a great blog. Lots of passion for a great show. I love this blog. Whatever the outcome, everyone should be emailing and calling Hallmark Channel. We want our Mad Hungry. (more new episodes)

I hope Lucinda is reading all the comments. I don’t see anything wrong with people expressing their frustrations for a show that is important to them. Happy holiday, Lucinda and MH family.

    🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
