Currently on the stove are the scones, bacon and boiled eggs ๐Ÿ˜‰
I have made lots of scones but could never get them to a manageable size. The 1/3 of the dough and then the quartering of it work perfect! They are just the right size, thanks Lucinda.
I also passed along the food gift link, maybe I will get a few beyond the ones I am going to make. Happy Holidays. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just got back from the store w leeks in tow. I haven’t bought leeks before. I have scones and the Fritatta on the menu for Christmas morning. Can’t wait. Thanks!

Thanks for the tip to froth milk using the whisk. Makes my morning cappucino a breeze. I love your little tips and hints!! Keep on, gf.

This is my new favorite recipe. Everyone in the house LOVES this recipe. I even made a batch for my neighbors and I hear that the dad is hoarding all of the scones. I’ve used fresh blueberries, raisins and dried strawberries. Cranberries are next

What I love is that they have great flavor and not dry. You don’t feel like you need something to wash it down with. It is great with milk but you wont get dry mouth if you don’t.

To think, I was so worried about having a whole quart of buttermilk in my fridge. Now I need to keep it as part of my regular shopping but in the half gallon size. These are made several times a week!

What’s with the old date comments?

  • JoAnn December 19, 2011 at 3:29 pm

Erin, this episode first aired last season.

In response to JoAnn, I know that the show has repeats, but since when do old comments appear with it. Been a fan of Mad Hungry from the beginning, but have to say I’ve been so disappointed on how viewers comments are ignored.
Has the show been cancelled?? Is that why repeats? No more new episodes?

For pete’s sake, Lucinda has a broken ankle and is recuperating at the moment. Not sure if that is the reason for repeats but the FoodNetwork and Cooking Channel have repeats all day long most days except for Sat and Sun and all shows do repeats during holiday seasons. Give LSQ and her show a little break. It’s hardly likely to be cancelled as popular as it is!

    Jane M.

Lucinda comments about tomato paste the other day, but doesn’t address her broken ankle or maybe say thank you to the well wishes she’s receiving?? No questions about the show, which have been being asked for a long time now, are never addressed. You don’t keep viewers that way. There is definitely an avoidance when talking about the status of the program. (Which is a shame when it’s the best cooking show out there.)
