Recipes from Today’s Show: Pans 101

TODAY on MHTV: You don’t need every type of pan under the sun to make great food, but you do need a couple basics. My friend Erika is here and I’m showing her how to make the most of her kitchen pans. A braising pan, or deep skillet, is great for something like chicken cacciatore while a non-stick pan is my go-to for any kind of fish; today I’m using it for pan-seared red snapper. And, of course, my favorite: cast-iron. I’m using it to make a one-pan pork chop meal that’s super easy and delicious. More from the show.

    LSQ! I had to email u because EVERY SINGLE TIME I watch an episode, I covet and love your red nail polish and that skinny wooden spatula you use. Can u please share with me where u got the spatula and which nail polish u use. I LOVE the show and the food. Keep cooking! 🙂

    CRACKER RECIPE Keepsake Collections
    4 cups flour
    1 tps. salt
    1 cups milk
    2 tbs.surgar
    1/4 cup butter

    Sift ingerdients into bowl. Cut in butter until mealy. Stir in milk, making a stiff dough. Roll out lightly flour surface. Cut into shapes with knife or cookie cutter. Pierce each with a fork. Bake on a lightly greased cookie sheet until golden brown, approximately 15 minutes at 400o.

    Thanks for the tip on the spurtula. I ordered one from Kitchen Carvers. I received it within a few days. I may buy a second one in cherry. It was perfect and almost exactly like Lucindas. Check out the site. I encourage anyone who wants one to purchase one from this company. Made in the USA!!!
