Beer Pong

Published by

As everyone MUST know by now–at MSLO we had the greatest event here at our offices last week where we hosted hundreds of bloggers, in town for the annual BlogHer convention, for Martha’s Blogger’s Night Out. They came to get a taste of all the bloggin’ we have going on here.

What everyone who was there probably DOESN’T know is what happened afterwards, as the party wound down and most guests had left. Just when I thought were done and packed up for the night– one of the MH boys whispered to me, “wish Kevin (MSLO’s Illustrious Head Decorating Guru) would let us play beer pong on his fancy pool table.” And Kevin, never one to miss a potential fun-fest thought it was a great idea. But here’s the thing: he had no idea what beer pong is. And, I must admit–I’d never played it either. Although as the mother of college students, its not a term I’m unfamiliar with, to say the least.

My first born son paired up with Deputy MSL Food Editor and Taste of The Test Kitchen‘s, Christine Albano. And second born had beer-pong-neophyte Kevin to partner with and teach. In what was possibly my favorite line of the evening, Kevin when asked incredulously why he’d never played beer pong, replied–“I went to ART school.” You can see the stunned look on his face in this picture! Needless to say–Kevin lost his maiden game but to be fair to them both they were up against some fierce competition from the their highly competitive opponents who clearly have played a game or two of beer pong in their past!

By the way–special thanks to all the bloggers who stopped in at the Mad Hungry table.

Hi Lucinda, my first thought? Why didn't I stay!It was so great to meet you and your sons and I really hope that you keep me in mind to help you get to Aspen or help to plan an event for you while you are here.First things first, I will buy your cookbook and hopefully that will get me on track for my three rapidly growing weeds. Beautiful weeds that they are, they are eating me out of house and home and I definitely need your help.Your thoughtfulness on mentioning your visitors at BlogHer is very much appreciated. And yes, I'm sure I will be loving my pan scraper as soon as I start cooking real meals for my family. Right now I'm still recovering from BlogHer.All my best,Jillian http://aspenreallife.comhttp://isdisnormal.com

It was lovely to meet your sons, they were very enthusiastic about your recipes! That's all the endorsement I needed and added your book to my wish list.Alas, you were out of pan scrapers when I visited your table but my dog said not to worry, he'd volunteer his services as a replacement!
