Fourth of July Celebration

For me, Memorial day marks the beginning of summer and is celebrated with the grill. Come 4th of July, I take a break from the hot coals and hit the coast. My mom lives by the beach in Massachusetts & my brothers and I try to descend on “Glousta” at least once during the summer with our families. Days are spent in the sun (and ocean!) and the food comes right from the sea: lobsters, clams- you name it, we eat it. Leftovers are twice as sweet with lobster rolls and 4th of July is always finished out with pie and watching some fireworks.

I live in the valley of the sun. A small town out side of Phoenix. It is so hot in July, we do very little out side unless we are blessed with a trip to the mountains. So at around 9pm I pop a big bowl of popcorn and sit at the end of our drive way and watch the fireworks and dream of cooler weather.
You have become my favorite chef,you and Lidia.
