Graduation Weekend

See the awesome food/entertaining June issue of Martha Stewart Living. It contains the story of our first born sons college graduation from the University of Vermont. I fell in love with Vermont when he first started going there and went every chance I got. Burlington, where its located, on Lake Champlain (one hour drive to Montreal)–is a beautiful part of the world. The is so much about it that’s cool. If you can visit or live there–you’d be lucky. Natural beauty with all 4 seasons offering up something. The local food scene is second maybe only to California. Cheese makers, purveyors of every manner of vegetable, meat-raised to the cleanest standards. Its a cultural place-great for music, art and literature. Can’t say enough about VT.

Meanwhile, at Shelburne Farms about 20 minutes from Burlington in Shelburne we had this absolutely fun as hell party. The MSL crew who made the story (James, Sarah, Laura) and graduate and family are pictured at the Inn at Shelburne Farms where we stayed, a wonderful old Inn to visit on the property. Grandma Rose is the beauty. The party on Saturday night took place at the huge Coach Barn on the property. The graduation on Sunday (surrounded by brothers, cousins, aunts and uncles too) and was followed by some family hang time in Burlington. See the total story with how-to do it with recipes and other party ideas (there were multiples of the beautiful arrangement above). I really recommend this type of party for grads of any age.
