Recipes from Today’s Show: All-American Recipes

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: Every part of the U.S. is known for a particular kind of food, and today I’m making a few classics. Chicago dogs, a hot dog with everything on it (a.k.a. “dragged through the garden”) is a staple of the windy city. Then, the California cobb salad was created at the Brown Derby Restaurant in Hollywood and is big enough to serve as a main course. Finally, the official dessert of the state of Massachusetts, the Boston Cream Pie. More from the show.

I have been watching your show for the past few days and I love the recipes that you are sharing. I am so excited to try the pesto pressed sandwiches that you made yesterday and the lamb burgers from today. Thanks for creating and sharing such simple and fun recipes!

When a recipe calls for mint, is it spearmint or peppermint?

    Dear Lucinda Scala Quinn,
I love your cooking show. You make so many wonderful dishes and desserts. You make it look so easy, and actually, after watching you, it is not difficult at all. I started to watch your program this past winter, after I had total knee surgery. And I’m still making time for it now that I’m recupperated. Keep up the good work. It’s fun seeing you and your son doing a program together too. I have used quite a few of your recipes. Today I’m using the very delicious looking Calif. Cobb salad and Boston Cream Pie, Oh yes, not to forget the Chicago dogs. Thanks so much, Jean from CT

    Lucinda and Calder,

Wow, another fabulous mother and son episode! You two make a great team and are a joy to watch and learn from.

As a north shore resident of Massachusetts, I especially loved watching you create that luscious Boston cream pie. It was also fun to hear that you and your family often make the drive to our beautiful Northeast coast. I totally get why you can’t get here fast enough, especially in the summer! Loved the beach and lobster pics from the 4th!

I am looking for a couple recipes you had on today’s Show. One was the dough for the Cream Puffs. The other is for the little meat turn overs. I don’t remember just what they’re called.

    Thank you,
    Corinne Kerber
