Recipes From Today’s Show: Big Game Party Dishes

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: It’s two days until the biggest football game of the season and CQ and I are pulling out all the stops. Spicy-sweet chicken wings get a big flavor boost from a chili and hoisin sauce marinade, and bake until they’re crispy, golden and caramelized. Seven-layer bean dip (I make my own refried beans—so easy!) is served up in individual jars and sliders are cooked under the broiler so that I can make a big batch at once. More from the show.

I made these wings for Super Bowl snacks along with the dipping sauce. Don’t omit this added feature. It really makes the wings quite tasty. They were a hit!

Please tell me where to purchase a good iron skillet. The ones I’ve looked at so far have a rough finish both inside and out. They are pre-seasoned, I guess that is okay, but I think the inside of the skillet should be smooth.
I love your cooking program. I can understand every word you say and you are an excellent teacher.

I made all these on game day. I have made the wings several times since then and plan on having them tomorrow. (they are fabulous!) Good thing my son found the folded printout in my Mad Hungry cookbook because I was having a fit thinking I wouldn’t be able to find it online. I am ready for more books to buy. It sure makes my life simpler. We are getting ready to make the rice krispy treats as soon as I post this. (still going through boxes and boxes of magazines and printouts of recipes and discarding most! Thanks for making my house cleaner LSQ!)
