Recipes from Today’s Show: Freezable Make-Ahead Recipes
TODAY on MHTV: When there’s a little extra time during the week, it’s a great opportunity make meals in advance. Chicken pocket pies are loaded with flavor and go straight from freezer to oven—they’re an awesome alternative to the store-bought version that is overpriced and full of preservatives. Pot sticker dumplings take just a few minutes to heat up on the stove and are accompanied by a simple soy-vinegar sauce. Dessert is totally in the bag with an easy recipe for profiteroles; little round puffs of dough filled with ice cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. More from the show.

Is it possible to put ‘pot sticker dumplings’ in soup?
CA: Absolutely–one of the best ways to eat them. Just drop them into a broth to fully cook the meat–about 3-4 minutes. Best, LSQ
I just baked a few of those Savory Chicken Pocket Pies…OMG they were the best Chicken Pot Pie I’ve ever had! The dough was easy to work with as you said and the taste was so buttery, creamy and flaky…YUM! The filling was so tasty as well and so simple…way better than those store-bought things! Thanks!
DEAR LUCINDA,
LOVE YOUR SHOW & RECIPES. YOU ARE A WONDERFUL TEACHER & ALTHOUGH I DON’T MAKE MY SPAGHETTI SAUCE LIKE YOU DO, IT LOOKS DELISH! I WILL TRY IT. I MAKE IT LIKE MY GRANDMA & MY MOTHER, COOK IT FOR HOURS WITH PORK CHOPS, SAUSAGE & MEATBALLS IN IT.
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!
CHEERS,
MARY
wish you would give us more freezer recipes. Sooooo good! Thanks
I would love to get the Cream cheese pastry dough recipe that wasn’t shown on the freezer recipes show. However, I am having difficulty with getting the recipe to come up (keep getting a page 1 second later that just says false.
Help! I want that recipe.
Keep up the great show.
I saw your show on the make ahead recipes. I cook lunch for a small Catholic school I thought I would give the chicken pocket pies a try. Monday I made the pie dough and pie filling. Tuesday we made over 200 pies! We had the assembly lines of assembly lines, but with the great parent volunteers we were done in just over an hour! We did a time and temperature test and truly enjoyed the fruit of our labor. The true test came today with the children, you know a food with honesty to goodness vegetables ( we added peas too). They disappeared in seconds even with the warning that the filling was very hot. The best part, i have another disc of dough and about a quart of filling leftover. I will be adding them to the stash my daughter takes back to college. Blessings, Janey Nelson
