Recipes from Today’s Show: Italian Comfort Food
TODAY on MHTV: Some of my favorite foods are family recipes. My husband’s recipe for Italian meatloaf, polpette, has a secret ingredient that gives it a major flavor boost. On the side, chunky ricotta mashed potatoes and steamed spinach are a snap, and for dessert, my Aunt Lina’s wine taralli cookies. More from the show.

Watch ”Mad Hungry with Lucinda Scala Quinn” Mondays at 11:30 a.m. ET/10:30 a.m. CT, Tuesdays through Fridays at 11 a.m. ET and 11:30 a.m. ET on Hallmark Channel.
Hi Lucinda, I too make Taralli, one is sweet with sugar, and the other is savery with anise seeds (no sugar). My Grandmother and Mom boiled the Taralli, (about 3 to 4 mins.) before they put them on the rack in the oven (no baking sheet). Come winter I will try your Taralli’s.
Thanks for all your show, I try not to miss it.

Hi Lucinda,
I hope you had a great 4th of July. I had 20 people over. Everything I made was from your show. They were so impressed with me. They are now all watching you over the summer. I made some of your dips, grilled chicken with figgy sauce, the turkey burgers you made with Calder (and the special sauce, yum) the teacher’s eggplant rollatini (2 huge pans) and the 4th of July icebox cake (doubled the recipe). The food was devoured. The men (mostly Italian) ate that rollatini like there was no tomorrow. It was a huge hit. Please pass it on to that gentleman who made it on your show.
My family teases me about my obsession with Mad Hungry, but then again they will never pass up the meals I make. When will new episodes air?
