TODAY on MHTV @ 11:30 am ET: No one is immune to feeling a little under the weather from time to time, and when that first cough or sneeze hits, my first line of defense is in the kitchen. Fresh ginger tea and lime-honey ice pops work wonders on a sore throat, and for an all-purpose cure, I turn to my chicken broth elixir. Several mugfuls are reserved for the one with the sniffles, and the rest of us get healthy tortilla soup with poached chicken and all the fixings. More from the show.

    Lucinda,

Great remedies. Befpre you know it winter will be here. I’m done with the hot weather. Made 2 pans of eggplant rollatini from last weeks teacher episode this weekend for a gathering. It was outstanding!!

Love your remedies and the Chicken Broth Elixir especially!

We do get colds in summer too and these recipes are so good for us. I especially love French onion soup myself with lots of garlic. Good for the immune system.

As for the soft boiled eggs with toast mmm… so comforting.

Very interesting. I’d like to share an interesting quote about health. “A man too busy to take care of his health is like a mechanic too busy to take care of his tools.”

I love all of your recipes (in fact using some of these on my sick toddler right now), but I’ve been coveting the diamond-patterned mugs shown in the pic for ages! I’ve even asked on your facebook page… Any chance you can share some info, or maybe even offer them on OpenSky?
