Recipes From Today’s Show: My First Job

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: Everyone remembers their first job; mine was at a little restaurant in Connecticut called Bon Appetit. As a teenager, I started out on “prep,” cleaning and cutting piles of vegetables for service, and ended up learning and moving my way up the line to actual cook. Today’s show is a homage to my meager jump into the food business many years ago. Ham quiche is made with my cream-cheese pastry crust, Jarlsberg, and parmesan cheese and is great to eat at any time of day. On the side, a chicory, red cabbage, and escarole salad gets a red-wine vinaigrette, and for dessert, a simple peach kuchen.

I love your show and recipes. I have made the Green Goddess dressing and chili (can’t remember the exact name of the recipe for the chili) many times, and I going to make the ham and cheese quiche today. Thanks for the great show!

My family is a big quiche family. We try to create so many different combinations. It’s lots of fun and delicious.

I would like to know the quickest way to get the Today Show’s recipes on a daily basis. I hope that you can help me, or least point me in the right direction to get the recipes and other topics quickly without having to spend 30 minutes looking for them. I am not very computer literate and would greatly appreciate the information.

    Thank you,

    Tina George

Lucinda, you’ve brought back memories of many delicious lunches at Bon Appetit. Carrying our little cups of soup to our tables and awaiting the serving of what was always a superb meal. We overindulged every time, rationalizing our actions by saying at least we had to walk up and down the stairs to get there. I’ll be making the quiche tonight!
