Recipes from Today’s Show: Packable Lunches to Go

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: I’m making three hearty grain salads that are great for dinner and make awesome packed lunches the next day. Carrots and celery add crunch to my barley, mushroom, and dill salad; my farro, feta, and mint salad is packed with protein-rich chickpeas; and my super-simple brown rice and chicken salad is topped with sesame seeds. Start saving those plastic pint containers, or check out the lunchboxes I loveMore from the show.

Please bring back the 11:00-12:00p:m show I hate the new format! Put Emeril back on the food networkl!!!!!!!!!!!!Lucinda-Scott Quinn is more informative. I have gotten some great tips from the show the coconut bread recipe is to die for! emeril show is too staged.I will be changing channels for sure!

Please, please bring back Lucinda’s vidoes. I have to work every day and can’t watch her show at home. I have to wait to watch her on computer at work…I like her recipes. She cooks for real people.

Love your show Lucinda. You are entertaining and have a charming personality. I bought the Mad Hungry cookbook and enjoy it. Your 3 sons add a lot to the show and one of the best things a mom can do is to teach her boys how to cook. My question is what happened to the archive of your recipes. That was great. Keep up the good work. Love those tops you wear.

I know many people enjoyed cooking teacher John Contratti when he was on Mad Hungry. I had heard about his cooking blog. I found it and it’s great.

I pulled up the recipe for Barley, Mushroom, & Dill Salad. What kind of vinegar would you recomend?

  • Kelli October 13, 2011 at 12:46 pm

Lucinda, Your show keeps me cooking healthy home-made meals for my family. Whenever I am feeling uninspired I turn on your show(dvr) and cook with you or I open my notebook full your recipes. Thanks so much. I made one of these salads right away and loved it! Printing recipes isn’t as easy as it used to be. The ‘print’ button is not on the page anymore so I get all the ads etc. along with a tiny recipe.

@ Kelli – the print button is on the lower left-hand side of the page now. I had a difficult time finding it also.
