Recipe’s from Today’s Show: Pizza Night

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: Everybody loves to eat pizza and the only thing they love more than eating it, is making it. Today I’ll show you how to make a basic pizza dough and put your own personal twist on it. Some of my favorites are pizza margherita, escarole pizza and something my family calls pizza frizza; a sugar-y, fried version of pizza that I used to make with my grandmother when I was child. And after today, you’ll be able to make it with your kids.

    Lucinda,
We love your show. My 5 year-old and I stop our mornings and watch every day. We especially enjoyed the pizza show today as we always make home made pizza on Friday nights! We’re going to try the fried dough for a grande finale tonight! Thanks for the neat show that really does add to our knowledge and family menus! Gretchen, mother to 4 mad hungry kiddos and wife of one mad hungry guy!

My husband I watch your show everyday. I really enjoy your “down-to-earth” attitude and cooking style. Stick to the basics, please. I’ve been cooking for 40 years and we raised 3 boys. Your show has reintroduced me many things I’ve forgotten or got away from. In an ttempt to eat healthier, I am switching to whole grain, or wheat flour products. Do you know why pizza restaurants, grocery stores etc. don’t carry a whole wheat pizza crust?

Thanks, and keep up your passion,

    Judy

Finally a cooking show for all ages. I’am a senior and have raise four kids. This show reminds me of the times when I was younger cooking every day with my daughter. Guess what Lucinda you got me cooking again and enjoying it. This a smart educational show that warms the heart.
Bravo Lucinda and the hallmark channel. Thanks Martha

I had planned on making pizza for dinner tonight and when I saw a few days ago that you were going to feature pizza I waited to see what your dough recipe would be like. Glad I did it was great. So much better than the recipe that I had used before. It was like our favorite pizza place NY PD Pizza. Love the show and your boys are terrific. Planning on buying Mad Hungry book this weekend. Also hope you continue to work on Everday Food love that show as well.

I, too, love your tasty, simple food—I bought the huge cast iron pan and we LOVE the flat roasted chicken. I cook everything we eat because I am not only gluten intolerant, but also allergic to yeast, fungus, and fermented foods. So I appreciate your delicious, inspiring recipes and your homey approach. Thanks, Lucinda!

I want to first say thank you to everything you do. I love your show, and have tried more of your recipes than any other chef. I wanted to ask a question about the pizza dough, you had mentioned that you can freeze the dough. We try and make every Friday Pizza night at our house and I would love to have some stashed away to make life easier on some nights. I haven’t ever frozen dough before, any special tips or tricks to remember?
