Recipes From Today’s Show: Quick Shrimp Masala
TODAY on MHTV @ 11:00: Tonight’s dinner is one where I’m going meat-free, so I’m making shrimp masala, or my “curry in a hurry”. A blend of Indian spices and sweet coconut milk, this easy, fast dinner takes no time to put together. To make things even easier on myself, I’m using shrimp and okra that I’ve got stashed in the freezer. On the side a no-cook coconut cilantro chutney is great served with the curry and a creamy yogurt pistachio smoothie. More from the show.

Hi Lucinda,
Love any dishes that involve shrimp. I will try yours this weekend.
Renee
i get really upset when i can’t find the receipts on my computer after i waych your it is like you don’t want us to have them thank you
I agree ,Beverly. I have looked for the albanian recipes and althought it gives you a link you can forget the recipe because you won’t get it.
It’s very easy to find the recipes. If you’re leaving a comment on this blog, scroll back up a little and click on “Authentic Albanian Family Recipes”. Click on the side, video/recipes will be there. Have to take time to look. I don’t understand that when I click on “This Week on Mad Hungry” it’s not this weeks recipes.

I work for a small fire hose company, & we cook for the local fire departments annually. I’m always looking for good recipes. Nice blog
Looking forward to that teacher guy. I get many great recipes from his website.

I can’t find the albanian recipes. Sometimes I can’t find recipes for shows and have to search for half hour which really discourages me from getting recipes sometimes
The people who are having problems finding the recipes may just need a bit more training in using websites. When you see a word or words in blue type, for instance “Authentic Albanian Family Recipes”, click on it and the recipe will come up. I hope this helps.
The comment of Helen is not entirely correct and so with the others.
I can’t find the recipe with the shrimp & haricort vert & coconut milk which was shown yesterdday if I’m not mistaken. Lucinda, where is it?
Thanks
Not only am I romping and reading, Lucinda you have me cooking. With my large family, your elegantly simple dishes are being enjoyed by all. I now love yogurt-pistachio smoothies and have to say the boy salads were probably the biggest hit around here. I missed you show today, as I got busy with reading, blogging, and taking care of my sick Little Reader. Thank you for your inspiration and Happy Cooking. I’m off on a “mad” run to the store for steaks on the grill tonight :-9
I made the New Orleans Beans the other night (absolutely wonderful), so I am making this tonight to go with all the leftover rice lol I was wondering what spice/spices you could use if you can’t find Garam Masala. (Made standing rib roast, potatoes, yorkshire pudding and braised green beans on Easter. Father-in-law has been so impressed with the food I am sending him that he gave my hubby $50 for groceries lol) I should have written sooner if I wanted replacement spice suggestions lol But I will keep checking back before I start to cook.
The family loved it! I found a site that told what spices went into Garam Masala. It is at gourmet food source dot net. I didn’t have the cardamom, but with the other spices I really don’t think it needed it. And along with the family loving it is how easy it was, and how clean my kitchen was during and after making it.
@Kathy, Here’s a recipe I found by googling for Garam Masala. Mix all these spices together and then store in an airtight container.
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 1/2 teaspoons ground coriander
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cardamom
1 1/2 teaspoons ground pepper
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
You might want to use seeds for cumin, coriander and toast them first for just a few seconds (10 at the most) in a hot small skillet. Then grind to a powder and mix with other ground spices.
There are many other garam masala recipes found by googling.
do they offer some sort of detector wherein our speak partner would not realize that we utilized cams recorder? just making sure below.
