Recipes From Today’s Show: Rustic Italian

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: All “rustic” Italian cooking means is that the food is fresh, simple and delicious. A no-cook tomato sauce can not only be made in advance, it’s also really easy—just rip the tomatoes and basil with your hands! Tuna steaks topped with mint sauce are a light main course and a great meal to share with those friends and family who might not be big fish fans. On the side, Neapolitan-style green beans are tender and full of flavor.

If LSQ and the crew are looking for feedback, I have to say the reason I watch is to see Lucinda cook with the boys, family members and the different friends/guests that are on. Yes, it’s fine when Lucinda is alone, but I tend not to watch with as much interest as when she cooks with others. I truly hope the format doesn’t change. There is a reason why people watch and support Mad Hungry, don’t tamper with it.

    Mad Hungry,

I watch Mad Hungry to learn from Lucinda and others who she cooks with. It would be a shame if that part of the show is lost in lieu of trying something “different”.

Love your show. I prefer you do it alone.

Pasta dishes are great and so versatile. You can add just about anything in – veggies, meat, seafood. And they’re so colorful!

Love Lucinda alone but certain guests bring a greater attraction to the show. There are so many cooks who day in and day out just spew recipes at the audience by themselves. Not that I don’t appreciate when LSQ is alone, but you have to mix it up, otherwise “BORING”.

    Hi Mad Hungry,

I’m in agreement with Paige. As I love LSQ
I find some of the guests interesteing that
she cooks with. Ever since Lucinda cooked with
teacher John Contratti, I’ve followed his
wonderful blog. He has so many terrific recipes
that I don’t know why Mad Hungry hasn’t had in
back yet to cook. This is a perfect example.
When Lucinda cooks with guests, she talks with
them. After following this gentleman’s blog
there is so much more to him than just beiing a cook/teacher. Have you scrolled through his blog? As the coversation is mostly about cooking, a little diversion about the person cooking with Lucinda should be included. So absolutely, Lucinda needs to cook with others aside from just herself. I have to be honest, I change the channel when the same cook is on by themselves all the time. The show needs a little balance.
    Linda R.
day after day by themselves and their is no
    interaction with another person.

    Hello,

I’m forever reading on this site about John Contratti’s blog. Can someone tell me the site?

    Thanks,
    Alex

Like today’s pasta. Reading through, it’s the best when Lucinda cooks with others, her boys, etc, etc.

    To Alex:

    John Contratti’s blog is at:

    http://www.cookingwithmrc.tumblr.com

My family has made dozens of recipes from it. If you scroll back, there are also some very cool pictures of him and some very cool people. It’s combo of food, pop culture etc. It’s an enjoyable site. Check it out.

P.S. More new Mad Hungry, please.

Please don’t change the format. I love when Lucinda cooks with Calder and other people. That’s why I DVR it each day. But really now, enough of the repeats. Let’s get on with the show.

I just found this blog today while searching for the roasted pork and roasted veggie recipe. So I was surprised that there might be changes to the show. I love the show as is, watch it every day. Some small changes would be okay, just please don’t make any big changes. There’s an old saying, “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
