TODAY on MHTV: One of the perks of my job is traveling and tasting the local specialties. But nothing beats a good old-fashioned road trip with my family — or good old-fashioned road food. Today, Calder, Luca, and I are re-creating some of our faves: crispy onion ringschocolate malts, and warm, melty French dip sandwiches
(which hail from L.A., not France). More from the show.

I am saddened that Mad Hungry has been pushed, shoved, and banished to noon on most weekdays, which will make it more difficult for me to watch. I shall have to catch her recipes online rather than on TV. Bummer!

i AGREE!!! now i wont be able to watch and she is the highlight of my day..or at least the bright, calming, cozy spot. I can’t believe they put that other show in Lucinda’s place…make him do the later time slot…aahhhhh i hate hallmark channel and their decisions. VERY VERY disappointed!!!!! hopefully this new show will go the way of that other horrible show they had on for a while..everyday food or something like that.
    It’s a sad day 🙁

Where is Lucinda, Mad Hungry? This change makes it
    almost impossible to watch!!!

Lucinda isnt just a good chef; she is MRS Personality
and reminds me of my family…the ones who are no
longer here. Emeril is good; he just isnt Lucinda.

    Sad day for me…

I am a senior; this is the second time I have written this comment.

Where is Lucinda, Mad Hungry? This changes my whole schedule and I now will probably not get to see her.
She made my day; her skill, her personality. She
cannot just be replaced…… Emeril is nice,
but he isnt Lucinda….sad day for me… Mary J.

I love Lucinda, too. She is a great chef. Her recipes are the only ones that I like to cook from.

  • Beady September 26, 2011 at 5:04 pm

Where do you get the tubes of tomato paste that you use all the time on your show?

  • Barbara Lauderdale September 26, 2011 at 5:29 pm

Yes, it is very un-nerving to be (forced) to watch many of the programs on Hallmark. I am sad to see her show on for only a half hour. I would love to see a financial fund for Lucinda where her fans could donate directly to her for her future success to do what ever she desires.

  • SHIKHA DALAL September 26, 2011 at 6:06 pm

I want MH on at the earlier hour. The Emeril show is a copy of the old Wolf Gang Puck show which failed… I feel very angry because Lucinda not only is agreat cook but she is like us and raised such great men. I wish she could have a two hour show. I learn more from her and every one of her recipies I made and was a sucess.

  • SHIKHA DALAL September 26, 2011 at 6:07 pm

    I approve. Sd

Don’t mess with perfection. Mad Hungry with Lucinda and her sons at 11:00am. Lucinda has the best cooking show on TV … She deserves prime time! Emeril anytime you choose … I don’t care!

  • Michelle, Colorado Springs, CO September 27, 2011 at 11:04 am

Yay, I’m glad the show is back today but BOOOO………why has the time slot moved??? Now it will be harder for me to watch as I have other things going on at that time. Internet Mad Hungry Blog here we come I guess. Maybe we’ll be able to watch it online????

  • Lucinda Scala Quinn September 27, 2011 at 11:47 am

Hey folks: Thanks for all your support. It makes me very happy to hear that everyone loves the show so much. Programming is completely handled by Hallmark and beyond my control. Hang in there and spread the word. Best, LSQ

  • ann zaff September 27, 2011 at 12:33 pm

More Lucinda Scala Quinn, not less. Bring her back to 11AM too. Emeril is talened but makes things that belong on a restaurant table. Lucinda makes things that I put on my table and its easy clear and DELICIOUS. Please put her on twice a day so we have a choice of when we can watch. I love Calder Quinn also, give him a show of his own.

  • Kay Hayes September 27, 2011 at 1:18 pm

I agree with everyone who is disappointed with the time slot I love Lucinda, her family and everything about the show I had her twice a day and would like that back or an hour show Bring her back at 11

  • Carol Roche September 27, 2011 at 1:33 pm

Bring back Lucinda for the whole hour. She’s
the perfect cook and personality for most of us.
Emeril had his time on Food Network TV. He’s OK
but not worth the whole hour and not in her usual
time. Why push her off the air????? Of all the
crazy things. She’s the one we want!!!!!!!!

  • beth September 27, 2011 at 1:50 pm

AMEN to all of the above!!! if someone knows a way we can get through to Hallmark Channel let us know. Because here we are pretty much preaching to the choir..WE ALL LOVE LUCINDA AND HER BOYS AND HER SHOW! i watched emeril for 1 minute today and couldnt stand it..with all those strange people watching him cook mushrooms and making inane comments. GIVE ME MY MAD HUNGRY and my LSQ!!!!

  • donna Mitchell September 28, 2011 at 2:19 pm

I agree with all the above. Lucinda’s show ia great! And where are the clips from the TV show?
    this is a bummer!

  • Jo Ann September 28, 2011 at 6:42 pm

I enjoy watching Lucinda and her handsome, all american looking boys cook. I’m sure her show is indicative of what goes on in their household. It is refreshing to see young men interested in building their cooking skills.
I am the mother of three boys who were taught their way around the kitchen, and while they have children of their own now, it has worked to the advantage of their families; everyone contributes to making meals an enjoyable time to sit and reflect on their day.

  • Carol September 28, 2011 at 7:31 pm

I love Lucinda (She’s so down to earth and in touch), her recipes and Mad Hungry. Bring her show back to 11:00 am. I looked forward to watching Lucinda after Martha Stewart. Now I turn the TV off.

  • Gigi Jones September 29, 2011 at 2:03 pm

To Hallmark Channel: Put Lucinda and MHTV on twice per day, AM and PM, so that we can watch a realistic cooking show, please. Thank you.

  • Trish September 30, 2011 at 1:05 pm

Lucinda – We all really miss you and the boys in the format it was last season. Anyone who can make a 54 year old woman WANT to learn to cook has got to be special. I have cooked more in the past year than I did in the past 10 years because YOU and your show – SHOWED me how to do it. I love how your recipes are the yummy basic dishes that anyone can learn to make without breaking the bank account. Thank you SO much for your show.

  • Dee Rinehart October 2, 2011 at 9:22 am

I love this show. I have made so many of the recipies. Actually I am loading up my DVR with these recipies. They are realistic and Lucinda gives me the courage to try them. When I do, they come out perfectly. You are a great teacher and thank you Technology for the DVR!

  • Bonnie October 2, 2011 at 8:58 pm

I agree with everyone. I think Lucinda is great. Down to earth similar to all of us. She has a family, has had to work and still get dinner on the table. Her short cuts and don’t worry about it attitude makes you feel like it is ok, even down to the substitutes. This is great I watch Martha at 10, then Mad Hungry. If I don’t watch there is nothing new for dinner. I have 4 teenagers, and often feed many of the marching band. They always look forward to seeing what I made and ask which show did I get it from. Things have not worked out very well the last few weeks with the change. So nothing new and band kids disappointed. Having the show at 12 does not work since dinner needs to be on the table for the kids at 3 and for the family at 6. This gives me know time fir the store run and prep. Sometimes when things aren’t broke don’t try to fix it. Emril is great but maybe would do better at 3. Hope everything works out soon so these kids can enjoy some good food again.

Put Lucinda on instead of emerile and martha, she beats them with common sense cooking and she reaches out to everyone with her recipes. She makes cooking fun down to earth with products we have in our pantries. PLEASE PUT HER SHOw ON AT NIGHT AND WEEK ENDS TOO.

  • Dee Zornow November 14, 2011 at 4:48 pm

I also love MadHungry and have watched it since it began. I’ve read all the other comments, and about older women getting enthused in cooking again, thanks to Lucinda’s easy recipes. I’m one of them, 76 and I love to try Lucinda’s recipes. I’ve made several, and have never been disappointed.
I liked the 11:00 time slot also, and a full hour would definitely be a plus! Emeril’s OK, but who can afford to buy the ingredients he uses? (Squid, Sea Bass, etc. blah, blah, blah)) I can’t! Almost everything Lucinda uses on her show, I have in my fridge, freezer or pantry.

  • Kay garletts January 29, 2013 at 5:22 pm

Please don’t remove Lucinda. Bottom line.. She is the best!!!! My family loves her!!
