Recipes From Today’s Show: Vietnamese Take-Out

Published by

Today on MHTV: Vietnamese food is filled with simple ingredients and lots flavor and today I have Calder in the kitchen to help me recreate some of our favorite take-out dishes at home. Summer rolls are so easy to make at home and impart many of the same flavors of spring rolls but aren’t fried! Ours are filled with shrimp, rice noodles and veggies before they’re wrapped up and served along a sweet and salty dipping sauce. Bahn Mis are one of my boys’ favorite sandwiches: three kinds of pork preparations, crunchy pickled veggies, mayo and chili paste  all on a crunchy baguette make for one absolutely craveable sandwich. And, to wash it all down, we’re mixing up a take on the classic Vietnamese Coffeethat’s sweet and satisfying.

After seeing the episode with John Contratti last week, I was so glad to read that he has a blog. I have found so many great recipes. It was also quite awesome to see him at so many events with such well known people. Loved reading that he was a judge at the Iron Skillet Cook Off awhile back. Bring back this talented man.

P.S. The rollatini Lucinda and John made together came out terrific!!! My family enjoyed it. No leftovers though. 🙁
