What’s New!

Published by

Hi Everyone!

Lo, part of the MH crew, snapped the shot above of CQ and I working in my office at Martha. On what you say? The new MHTV beat sheet! CQ and I are writing up what the new show will look like that’ll hopefully be on your TVs come the fall. Beyond developing TV, I’ve been working on a few stories for Martha Stewart Living magazine, working on  some MH merch and trying to make the madhungry.com page be more like my old blog and less like a promo roll.

You’ve spoken up and we’ve answered: in the past few months we’ve worked hard to archive all of our recipes onto a recipe page so that all of the MH recipes live in one place. It now lives on the lefthand side of the screen titled “SHOW RECIPES” in bold. Below it is where you’ll be able to find what’s on MHTV each week with that week’s recipes, similar to what used to live on marthastewart.com- it’s labeled “THIS WEEK ON MAD HUNGRY”.  We’ll reserve this homepage for blogging exclusively so the “This week on Mad Hungry” page will be your go-to for all of the current week’s listings and recipes. We’re also incorporating our YouTube page onto the site, so you can see the most updated videos, many of which are what I love and am offering on OpenSky but what will also feature behind the scenes videos and How-Tos with LSQ. And if that’s not enough, we want to make it easy to hear from you, so we’re developing a “Contact Us” page where you can fill in your questions, comments and concerns that’ll go straight to our madhungrylsq@gmail.com account.

We’re so thankful for all of our fans for sticking by us (even through tons of repeats!) through all of our growth spurts. As spring is beginning to, well, spring, we’re working on big things at Mad Hungry headquarters.

Best,
LSQ & The Mad Hungry Crew

Love your show never miss it, but was just wondering will you ever do a show from your home? (love your set)

  • Jane McSwain March 9, 2012 at 5:28 pm

This is great news. A revised format for the blog, an easy recipe search and best of all a time-table for your new show. I faithfully watch all the re-runs because LSQ is such a fun host, the food usually looks so appealing and I like refresher courses. Love the show and love you and your family as hosts. All the best to the Quinn family!!

I do not have face book, and don’t intend to have at age 75. Could you possibly continue to give us the internet shows, that I used to watch and enjoy. I do have you finally (which took me a long time to get the help to do this) on the download on my TV or DVD what ever that thing is called, as I am too old to figure out most of these things. I do have every book you ever wrote, but still enjoy watching you, as when I get through I go to the store and buy the ingredients I don’t have and prepare so many of your dishes. I am old I’ve run out of suggestions for a meal. When I invite friends in, I always serve a meal straight from one of your books, but if you don’t have it in the book, and only have stuff on facebook or lsq, I’m sunk. Please don’t turn off the ordinary dot com stuff that I can get. Thanking you in advance Til Walker

Yay, Lucinda! I watch your show with my two young boys (they love to see your sons cooking) and cook from your cookbook regularly. Looking forward to the new changes – best of luck!!!

  • DianeKirkland March 9, 2012 at 6:15 pm

I love having the recipes so easily accessible! I have the Mad Hungry book but was saving all your shows on the DVR until I could confirm that the recipes I liked were in it. Now I can delete hours of shows. I don’t mind the reruns knowing that new shows are coming. Thanks!

  • Marguerite March 9, 2012 at 6:21 pm

Terrific news! Glad to hear the show will continue. I’ve missed you during reruns, but your food is still on our table a couple of times a week. Thank you for your recipes and message about the importance of family meals. As a newlywed it’s helping us make memories together and eat great food at the same time.

  • Kathleen Fairman March 9, 2012 at 6:28 pm

I also watch the reruns every day ’cause whatever I might have missed first time around, I catch the second time…Love the “casualness” and great tips you give to make meals fun, delicious…Your recipes are easy and VERY “do-able” which makes me want to be in the kitchen more…Looking forward to your new FALL show..Thanks Lucinda and crew !!!

  • Glenna March 9, 2012 at 8:24 pm

LSQ your show is the only one I watch and I am your biggest fan! I write all your recipes down and cook them all the time!!! I’ve always known how to cook, but you have opened my mind to so much more; making home made everything. I think that started when I saw you make homemade mayo….. Now if I don’t have a certain something I google it and make it from scratch; chili powder, cocktail sauce, Mexican red rice, etc… They may not be YOUR recipes but you made me realize my potential in my kitchen! Tonight I made your carnitas and they were awesome! The NY cheesecake was unbelievable! But your jerk chicken tops them all!!! Thanks and keep the inspiration rolling!

    Lucinda,

Not a Twitter person. I don’t know how it really works. I do know you can’t have more than 140 characters? Am I right? I noticed on the blog there are some tweets. If I read it correctly, did you meet Carson Kressley? He’s one of my favorites.

    Gary

  • Taylor March 10, 2012 at 3:34 pm

    Hooray Lucinda !!!!!!

I knew if we would be patient, all would be good again. Please bring back that John Contratti to cook again as soon as the show resumes. His blog has kept me very busy with some great recipes and I’ve been following him ever since you introduced us to him. Congratulations to everyone at Mad Hungry!!! I can’t wait for new shows.

    xxoo

So glad to hear Mad Hungry is alive and well. I spent Oscar night on a Live Blog that covered the whole United States. John Contratti was one of the guests. His whole blog on Oscar week was themed recipes for the nominated films. He was a huge hit on Oscar Sunday. I definitely want to see him cook with Lucinda again.

    Randy

    Can’t wait for the cookbook.

  • Paul March 10, 2012 at 4:32 pm

So happy for you Lucinda. You are an inspiration to me and many guys who cook. Cooking with your sons are some of my favorite parts of the show. You show how well guys can cook!!!

    Thanks,
    Paul

P.S. Yes, bring Mr. Contratti back. Another “guy” who can really cook.

Love the “Recipe Index”. Great Job!!

We LOVE your show and DVR it everyday. I also check the website often for what is going to be one etc. We watched a show last week that made pita chips and I went out to find the recipe and I could not find it. I entered “Pita” ……nothing. Then put in “pita chips”…..nothing. I went through all the recent shows and feel it must have been a bonus show at 11:30 vs. the regular one at 11:00. I went to the index and had to go line by line and found “herb pita chips”….we are making them now but wish it were easier to find the recipe by just entering the above options. I had no idea it would be under “herb”. So maybe as you make your changes you can add key words to help you locate the item. BUT…….we just love your shows. Thanks for making cooking seem so easy……..can’t wait for the new season!!

  • Jenn March 11, 2012 at 8:41 pm

I too can’t wait for a new season of episodes. Thanks viewers for sharing Mr. Contratti’s website: http://www.cookingwithmrc.tumblr.com
I’ve made some very good recipes from it. I need Lucinda’s new cookbook, too. Any ideas when??

I spent the month cooking from your cook book including a beautiful dinner party with the asian pot roast. It’s brought me such joy the last few weeks and I have shared it many times on my own blog. I just wanted to be sure to let you know how much I admire and often times share your work.
    Thank you.

It is great to get feedback from everyone as we evolve Mad Hungry more and more. To answer a few questions:
Gary, yes–I met Carson Cressley in Hawaii recently when I was traveling with my husband for his show. He is the announcer (among other things) for the Live with Kelly show and has been with the show for over 20 years!.
Julie: That Asian pot roast is also a favorite of my cookbook editor Ann Bramson. I’m glad you love it too.
To everyone appreciative of the new recipe finder–we must thank Lo, my partner in crime behind the scenes here on Mad HUngry! Best, LSQ

  • Lena R March 12, 2012 at 8:38 pm

I love your show but I’m COMPLETELY lost with this new website. I started getting recipes online when I realized that not all steps of a recipe are always shown on TV. Until two weeks ago I could come here and find the episodes I TiVo’d, but now I find it very confusing. Most of the links seem to take me to the same (irrelevant to my mission) blog posts, and I can’t find what I need. The Recipe Index is nice, but because the episodes aren’t identified I’m not always sure that the recipe title I’m searching for is the recipe I’m going to get. From where I sit, the designers took a functional website and destroyed it. Very frustrating — been trying to find an episode called “Eggs for Dinner” for half an hour. I give up.

  • Wayne March 12, 2012 at 9:11 pm

    Lucinda,

Hawaii, how exciting!! I’m a big Carson Kressley fan too. Love seeing teacher/cook John Contratti with him on his blog. http://www.cookingwithmrc.tumblr.com
Would love to see Mr. Contratti cook with you again.

    Best Wayne

Love your show. I am very glad to see your changes especially now your have put all recipes on your page. In the past I would see something I wanted to try and have go search all of the past shows to find it and then I would sometimes fail.

One question. I have seem your sons and relatives on the show but why not your husband? There was one show that I saw when you cooked some of his dishes but he wasn’t there. You have talked about alot so have him on. Hehehe!

  • Jo March 15, 2012 at 10:38 am

Thank you for the changes to the website, and for keeping us up to date on the changes. I can’t wait for the new show, I am relieved that you are going o continue. You are one of my favorite sites for recipes and ideas. I wish Martha had you on more often as she does with Sara. Good luck with the new show.

  • Jackie March 15, 2012 at 12:13 pm

I usually work in the mornings, but i was here this morning and I saw your show–cooking chicken, crunchy cucumber salad and pinky pasta. I enjoyed your show very much. I went to the website to find the recipes and I could not find them. I may not be looking in the right place. Please let me know, I want very much to cook that meal for my family. The day was Thursday, March 15th at 10:30am central time zone. Thanks so much.

  • Kay March 20, 2012 at 4:00 am

Is that really your home kitchen or is it a set? Why doesn’t your husband ever appear on the show?

    BRING BACK MAD HUNGRY

  • Cynthia March 18, 2013 at 1:58 pm

    Hi,
Caught your show for the first time today on Hallark!
Loved it……..I could not believe you were making corn with crema, because
I would love to have that recipe and the casserole and cocktail.
I look forward to watching your program.

  • Peggy Lynch May 15, 2013 at 5:02 pm

What does the term “riffed” mean? I’ve heard you (Lucinda) use it several times and had never heard it before — thanks — Peggy

    • Lucinda Scala Quinn May 16, 2013 at 3:10 pm

      Hi Peggy,

When LSQ says “riffed” she means improvised or took her own liberties with a recipe (she took her take on something).

      Hope this helps,
      The MH Team
