Please learn to pronouce “bracciola”. It’s a word that shouldn’t be Americanized. Just ask anyone with an Italian background. No problem, it was good for a chuckle.

Watching you make the Bracciola reminded me of a dish my grandmother and my mother use to make that was so good, and with their passing, sadly lost forever. They called it “spadini”. The beef thin, the same as you did, but, then cut into strips about 1 1/2″ wide and 3″ long. Then the breadcrumb mix basically the same, but, with tomatoe sauce mixed in, to make like a paste. The filling applied to the beef just like yours, then put on a scuier, like a mini shiscabab, with a slice of onion between each roll. Then they are broiled.
I’m no chef, but, I love to cook, and am very good following recepies, and would really love to see a recepie for “Spadini” that I could pass down, and keep this tradition going in my family.
    thank you.

I made the bracciola and gnocchi for Christmas Eve dinner. Delicious!! Easier and quicker than I thought. Wonderful recipes!

I consistently use your recipes and they are always a hit–but this beef bracciolli was the BEST–although even the butcher at my local supermarket didn’t know what I meant when i asked for “top round sirloin” We substituted so a thin cut “sandwich steak” It was delicious, smelled amazing, the sauce was to die for.
And making gnocchi together is sure to be a new Christmas tradition with my grandsons from henceforth.
    We had so much FUN!
