Mad Hungry Cravings Party

I received a message from my son this morning about hot sauce which has caused me to reflect on the party that kicked off our summer–The Mad Hungry Cravings book party.

We made the MHCravings Paw Paw Pepper sauce to put in our goodie bags. Turns out, this several weeks later, folks are savoring the last drops of their hot sauce gift and asking for more! We’ll have to kick back into production on that one.

As with planning any party, once the location is set–the menu makes it all come together and we had some awesome ingredients to make ours special. We figured a little something from the new book (Summer Roll Salad and Tito’s Handmade Vodka-infused Jiggle Shots) a little something from my Authentic Jamaican book (jerk chicken sandwiches with mango chutney and Appleton’s Rum Punch), a favorite hard cider collection from Angry Orchard and pretty much one of the best American beers, Dogfish Head. Capping everything of with a sweet we served Banana chocolate chip Ice cream sandwiches (filled with Lo’s crazy cinnamon-rum ice cream) AND for all night nibbling, Shagbark Seed and Mill corn chips. To keep everyone hydrated and happy we also had bottles of my absolute-hands-down favorite coconut water, Harmless Harvest. Like any great party, an eclectic music mix on Spotify was compiled by a combo of sons and colleagues to keep everyone rocking.

I was so happy to serve some of my favorite foods and drinks to family, friends and colleagues. So many folks chipped in to help make this party happen, which I seriously could not have done on my own. Sitting here on vacation–with some time to relax and reflect–I have such gratitude and thanks for everyone who contributed to the celebration of this latest book Mad Hungry Cravings–and with whom I have had the good fortune to work with in doing so.

Best,
LSQ

PS- This is a perfect menu to say goodbye to summer to (food, drinks, and music!).  Below are the recipes we served, straight from MH.Com:

Jerk Chicken
Mango Chutney
Jiggle Shots
Salsa Verde
Salsa Cruda
Shrimp Summer Rolls
Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

I love different sauces. I just want new recipes videos like everyone has been requesting.

Can you get John Contratti to cook some of the recipes from his blog when you make some new videos? Thank you.

    Janice

  • Patricia September 2, 2013 at 1:05 pm

I’ve seen every recipe repeated so many times. It’s time for new material.

    Patricia

  • Nina September 2, 2013 at 5:37 pm

Absolutely Janice and Patricia, I agree with both of you.

  • Danielle September 2, 2013 at 9:19 pm

When can we expect to see new videos on here?

  • Jane September 3, 2013 at 6:15 pm

As The Fall approaches, I was thinking how much I (and apparently so many others) would like to see Lucinda film some new recipes. We want to see Lucinda cook with everyone we’ve been asking to see. (Calder, her mom, John Contratti, her brother, etc)

The comment from Jane, I agree with. Fall is such an exciting time. I’m so motivated to cook. Let’s go MH, where are the new recipes? Do them on-line.

My tv isn’t the same without viewings of Mad Hungry! Miss the daily inspirations of great recipes…I own 2 of your cook books and have my rotation favorites, but miss the demo! It’s all about the “demo”! I so enjoy you, LSQ!!

    Where are the updates? Terry

  • Carrie September 22, 2013 at 9:45 pm

I’m so saddened that there is no news, no new recipes videos, etc.

  • Ellen September 24, 2013 at 6:10 pm

I agree with you Carrie. This is ridiculous. It’s almost a month. There is nothing new. Ellen

  • Sheila September 28, 2013 at 7:53 am

It is a month now, Ellen. I’ve given up. It’s Fall, the best time for cooking and making “NEW” things. I feel they have given up also.

100 % agreement, MH has given up. No respect for the people who supported this blog and the show.

I really don’t get the below (August 19, 2013) message, where it says LSQ will get back to blogging in September. Hope all is well with LSQ.

    Hi Everyone,

Wanted to give you all a heads up that I’m on a much-needed vacation for the next few weeks– it’s been an incredible year of touring, spurtling, book writing, and more. I’m looking forward to coming back refreshed and working on exciting projects for the fall!

For those in need of some immediate Mad Hungry, check out our YouTube page , where we’re uploading videos of your favorite recipes every week. Don’t see one you’re dying to watch on there? Comment on this post or at: madhungrylsq@gmail.com and we’ll pass on the suggestions to the video team.

Enjoy your holiday and I look forward to getting back to blogging in September.

    Best,
    LSQ

Her twitter and facebook seem to be alive and well…this blog, not so much. So disappointing.

  • Darlene October 10, 2013 at 9:00 pm

Not everyone is on Facebook or has Twitter. This blog made LSQ. Not very smart to do this to bloggers who made her a success.

Talk about turning off potential customers for any other books in the future.

  • Susan October 17, 2013 at 5:06 am

    Hi,
I have been waiting for a long time to see something new posted here.

    Thanks
    Susan

  • Roni October 18, 2013 at 9:50 pm

What a let down. MH should be ashamed of themselves.

  • Linda October 20, 2013 at 10:22 pm

What a slap in the face to all of your fans.

  • Gina October 21, 2013 at 6:07 am

I don’t get it either. I look here all the time and it’s now been almost 2 months and no new post. Gina

  • Donna October 26, 2013 at 5:48 pm

I find it very hard to believe that NOT ONE PERSON involved with MH has not check this blog and has seen all of these comments. It’s incredibly rude. INCREDIBLY RUDE.

  • Ugg Stiefel Deutschland Com November 21, 2013 at 7:12 am

Hi dear, me plus my mom are also watch humorous video clips however after I finished my homework

  • Harriet November 22, 2013 at 4:40 pm

Why is is such a big deal to post on this blog? You have people who just look here. Not a Facebook, we don’t “Tweet”. Meanwhile you were on QVC, and you don’t tell the people who have supported you for years about it. It’s beyond “rudeness””.

    Harriet

  • JoAnn November 23, 2013 at 6:26 pm

Looks like we’ve been abandoned. Thanks MH. So glad we supported you from the beginning.

  • Julie Dotas November 27, 2013 at 8:51 pm

Happy Thanksgiving Lucinda! I am finally sitting down after a day of pre cooking for the big holiday and I found myself at mad hungry.com. I hope you are doing well. Looking forward to your next cook book. Take care.

  • Spencer December 9, 2013 at 7:39 pm

I love your recipes but would like to see some new ones when you guys get a chance to post them. (Especially chocolate recipes!).

  • Frieda December 10, 2013 at 4:25 pm

Don’t hold your breathe Spencer, LSQ has really fooled us all. Have you read all of the above comments? It doesn’t take much effort to post on the blog, or at least answer people who take the time. Love JoAnn’s comment from 11/23/13.

  • Susie September 20, 2014 at 12:41 pm

I Seriously love your recipes but from so many days you are not posting anything. Will be waiting for an update from you.
