Recipe from Today’s Show: Spaghetti Bolognese

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: Spaghetti Bolognese is one of my all-time favorite pasta dishes but it normally takes a lot of time to prepare, about three hours. One night I  decided to change it up and created this shorter version that only takes ONE hour. My Bolognese starts with savory pancetta and ground beef seared in wine and tomatoes, then I take it to the next level and add a touch of cream. Since this is a heavy dish, I like to serve it with a light escarole side salad drizzled with Parmesan dressing. More from the show.

In this recipe you add the red pepper flakes after the tomatoes and most other red sauces you cook the red pepper flakes with vegetables. What is the difference in the flavor or why is it different in this recipe?

I don’t know how many times I’ve tried to make the perfect bolognese but it has gone wrong every time. When things need to cook forever how can they not go wrong? 😉 Well, I saw your clip and this just looks simple and delicious! And you’re so easy to like, I love your show. You got a fan here in Norway! 🙂

Oh my word!!! Made this recipe this week and HOLY MOLY was it great!! I will admit that I started making it with much fear as I detest traditional “spaghetti with meat sauce”, but this is NOT like anything I’ve had before! SO much flavor!! My 4 year old begged for THIRDS!!! Even my 10 month old kept leaning forward in her high chair for more! LOL!! Definitely keeper here in our home!! Thank you SO much!!

    His,
    Shari

PS- Totally LOVE everything we’ve made from your cookbook so far! I hope another one is in the works!!
