Recipes from Today’s Show: Richie’s Famous Ribs
TODAY on MHTV: Hands down, the best baby back ribs are made by my husband, Richie. He doesn’t use a recipe though, so I had to follow him around until I got everything down. The ribs are rubbed down with a homemade mix of salty, spicy and sweet and then basted with bbq sauce that caramelizes while they slow cook on the grill. Ribs aside, all you need is some baked beans with bacon (natch) and pitcher of limeade to be in bbq heaven. More from the show.

Watching you make ribs and baked beans as I type! Yummmy! But I have a question. I am desperate to know where I can find the glasses yOu use on the show? LOVE that they look like the inside of a can!
Wendy: Our prop stylist Rebecca says the glasses are from Canvas in NYC.
The website is canvashomestore.com. Its called the Syrian drinking glass.
Best,

I love watching Lucinda cook. I’ve been cooking all my life, but stopped cooking after severe back problems. I just couldn’t stand long enough to cook, BUT Lucinda has inspired me to cook again. As long as I’m on my meds, I give it a shot, and all because Lucinda makes me WANT to cook again. I have tried several recipes, and I love them. Please don’t go off my Hallmark channel, I get up every morning excited to see what you are going to cook today. Wish I could use cast iron, but I presently have an electric stove…BUMMER I love cast iron, and grew up watching my mom cook with cast iron, but sadly cast iron doesn’t work the same on an electric stove.
Oh thank you so much for asking! I appreciate it very much as I am sure you are extremely busy!
Checked out the glasses and have already decided what a great 11th wedding anniversary present the hubs can get me by getting me a set of them! Now I just need to send him the link to them:)
Also wanted to add that your son who helped you make the meat pies is just adorable!
Have a great day!

Today I cooked the “lemon butter sole” OMGGGGG, I’m not a fish lover, and my mother did not raise me to like fish, but I think I’m in love. That was the easiest recipe EVER. Thank you, that one is definitely a keeper.BTW…I couldn’t find sole, so I used talapia, still the most suculent, buttery fish I have ever had, & I mean ever!!! Easy is what I need, since I can’t stand for long periods of time, and I couldn’t believe how easy that was. My salad tool longer to make than the fish. Thank you Lucinda, I love your easy going attitude about cooking in general, I adore watching you and your boys. I was very happy to see your mother on one day, she reminded me of my mother-in-law who I love dearly. Have you ever had your husband on? He seems to have the joy of cooking in his blood as well.
Hi Lucinda: I enjoyed the much needed program on taking care of cast iron pans. Recently my son and new daughter in law asked me the questions you answered as they were shopping for new pans.
The family had a large iron skillet, it has disappeared over the years, but I can remember many fun days cooking with my mom making meatloaf and milk gray with bologna (no chipped beef)with the largest pan I had ever seen as a child. Regards, Ethel viewer of MadHungry/Hallmark channel.
I was brave enough to clean a cast iron pan that had been way neglected. I posted the before and after pictures here and how much I love your cookbook and show.

Lucinda,
I love your show and have tried a few of your recipes and plan on trying many more. The only problem is that when I go to print them out, they print out in such small print that I can hardly read them without a magnifying glass. Is it just me or are others having the same problem? Are you using smaller fonts for your recipes. Could you let me know? Thanks so much.
MaryAnn
