Recipes from Today’s Show: Stuffed Pasta Shells

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: This stuffed shell recipe, courtesy of my brother David, is creamy and full of flavor thanks to ingredients like prosciutto and radicchio. Make it in advance and store it in the freezer for the next time you’re expecting a big crowd. On the side, broccoli rabe is simmered until it’s tender and tasty, and wrapping it all up is an easy berry sauce that’s delicious on top of ice cream. More from the show.

I’d love to know if anyone has a suggestion for a replacement for the prosciutto. Though I love it, my family is vegetarian. I was thinking maybe anchovy or tuna?

MG: A couple best quality anchovies would be amazing!

I want to make the shells for book club, but can’t find radicchio. What could I use as a substitution?

    Loving your program!!

    Hi Leslie,

Instead of radicchio, try endive or chicory.

    Happy cooking!

Marilyn, If your family is vegetarian, anchovies or tuna wouldn’t work either..

I made this for dinner tonight and it was sooo good! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Basic Italian Tomato Sauce that went with it, too! And because the recipe allows for enough to freeze for later, now I have another batch of the stuffed shells for a quick fix dinner waiting in the freezer! Thanks so much for this great recipe that I will definitely be using again and again! And thanks to your brother David for creating it!

I just found your show on Hallmark and I love it!!!! I have done the chicken and dumplings and tonight am going to try the stuffed shells. I love the way you incorporate fresh herbs into your recipes. Thanks and keep up the “good eating” for us.

Though I love radicchio, I was really worried about how this recipe was going to turn out. Well, I have to say, IT WAS AMAZING!!! My picky son who wouldn’t go near a salad, had no idea what he was eating – just that it tasted good. My husband thought the shells were filled with sausage and loved it. For me, not only did it taste really good and totally original, it was lighter than other traditional stuffed shells recipes, which usually have too much ricotta in them. I’m making Lucinda’s Stir-Fried Chinese Chicken tonight – can’t wait!

The recipe posted isn’t the one you did on the show with radicchio. Please give that recipe so I can make it. I don’t want to use spinach! Thanks

I’m looking for the recipe, too. It looked so good on the show and I’d love to make it.

I agree with Jennifer and Sara. I made the other recipe with radiccio and prosciutto and now it’s not here anymore. 🙁 That was a great recipe. This one isn’t as good.

This link is been changed! I made Lucinda’s delicious recipe around the holidays, and now it is linked to Martha Stewart’s recipe. There’s no radicchio. Come on website people, get with it!! It’s also wrong on my ZipList recipe box. FIx this please. Repost Lucinda’s recipe. It’s sooooo much better. urgghh.

Did anyone write down the original recipe? It would be ever so wonderful if you reposted it in the comments. I don’t want to make the one on the MS site. I want the radiccio/prosciutto recipe because it was wonderful!

This dosen’t have to be posted. I have such a hard time finding recipes. There use to be an archive. I watch Mad Hungry twice a day and usually only one shows recipes are listed and the other is not. Please make the recipes more available. I love this show so much.
