Your Christmas Dinner

Published by

Hi Everyone,

As the holidays creep upon us, we’re mad curious what you all do for your holiday meal. You’ve seen the Mad Hungry menus of Quinn Christmas dinners past: the holiday ham, braciola, beef tenderloin and of course the boys’ favorite, standing rib roast. Now the question is- what are YOU making for your holiday meal?

Send pictures and stories of what ends up on your table this holiday to madhungrylsq@gmail.com for a chance to be on the blog.

Best,
LSQ & The MH Crew

I will have stuffed mushrooms and hopefully the carmelized onion dip on Christmas Eve along with In-n-Out Burgers. We are Eastern Orthodox and after 6 weeks of no meat prior to Christmas everyone wants a burger. After watching your show I decided to make it more festive by preparing sides and baking a cake for dessert. I also have made pastistio for the 26 after wathcing your show and thinking about preparing in advance. And last but not least, my husband is making a chopped salad with salami and provolone for brunch on the 25.

Will you be filming new episodes of Mad Hungry? So many repeats.

Geri – your spoiled. Every other cooking show is almost all repeats and only does a new show once a week. LSQ in her first year had no choice but to make a new show EVERYDAY and most of the year she did TWO a day!! Now it’s the holiday season, she has a broken ankle so let her have a couple of weeks of repeats. She’s earned a rest.

    To Jane M.

I am well aware all shows have repeats this time of the year. What is wrong with you Jane? Do you work for Lucinda? If you are a true fan, Lucinda filmed 50 episodes this summer. They have now run out. It’s a simple question to ask if she will be making more. Are you aware of how the “powers that be” have jerked Mad Hungry around this season? Lucinda had no choice to make a new show everyday last season?????? Are you kidding? She had to film the 50 episodes in record breaking time. She was done filming these 50 episodes by end of the summer. She made also most triple the amount of episodes last season. I’m sure she would like to work on her show on a daily basis, not when Hallmark or Martha throws her bone of “50 episodes”. So once again “Jane M.”, what’s wrong in asking if the great Lucinda will be filming more? Also, you keep spouting she broke her ankle. If she has, how come she hasn’t thanked bloggers for their well wishes? She’s been blogging ever since “your announcement” about her supposed broken ankle. But she’s never mentioned it. So next time, you want to call someone “spoiled” because of their “interest” in the show, you better be prepared to get it right back. Most importantly, get your facts right.

    Geri

P.S. Happy Holidays Lucinda! You’re the best and I hope you’re feeling great.

We are having pulled pork, coleslaw, sweet potato fries oven version and for desert cookies. My sister in law sent a box of foodies and I made cookies earlier on top of the gift baskets we received we don’t need more sweets. It is just the two of us this year and when I suggested a change my husband was thrilled. He loves Lucinda’s pulled pork I use my crock pot and it smells great in here.

For New Years I think I will fix a tenderloin and Lucinda’s citrus cake not sure what else yet.

Lucinda thank you for your show, I love it and am looking forward to your next cookbook.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful new year and much love and laughter.

You go Geri! I agree with you 100 percent. This Jane M. has rocks in her head. If she was a true follower, she would have known that Lucinda rushed to get the 50 episodes done this summer. Also, why is she kissing Lucinda’s butt. We all love Lucinda. We all know she has the most relatable cooking show out there. But you have to have your head in the sand to see there is something different the way the show is “being allowed” to run. And yes, if Lucinda does have a broken ankle, I can’t believe she would not thank the people who are wishing her well. There have been repeats galore. Not just recently. So what’s it to you Jane M. if viewers have questions for Lucinda. But for the longest time now, the questions that are answered are very selective. Notice how all “show related” questions are ignored. You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure out that something is up. So Jane M., if we all listen to you, Lucinda should be telling her fans after the new year that she broke her ankle recently and she will be back filming more episodes of Mad Hungry. That’s all viewers want to hear. Is that so difficult??

    Merry Christmas Lucinda!!

I see on the Hallmark Channel shedule, they have you back on for one hour from 11:00-12:00 in January. I hope it stays that way. You are the best!! Hope you are well.

Our contribution to Christmas dinner was a side dish we call kapusta (Polish for cabbage) – it includes sausage, onions, mushrooms, saurkraut and cabbage; a salad of fresh beets, oranges, walnuts and goat cheese with a basalmic reduction; butterhorn rolls (a cool-rise roll); and banana ‘n spice bars (uses a basic mixture for the bottom crust, bar and topping).

We enjoy having the leftover kapusta on hot dogs or sausage rolls.

Thank you for your show – always look forward to watching.

l truly enjoy Lucinda’s shows… they’re simple, classic, easy to follow, reminds me of what real family cooking is all about…please do not change, I like you above all chefs.

Thanks to you I had the courage to make my first ever Christmas Eve dinner…it was delicious…roasted turkey, bread stuffing, green beans, and mashed potatos. For Hannukkah dinner last night, potato latkas, Salmon with cream chees and leeks sauce, applesauce noodle kugle. All a suceess and my family and friends loved them all!

I prepared the Christmas ham menu and everything came out great. The lemon cake was my first “from scratch” cake. The flavor was great, but it came out a little dry, so I ended up drizzling lemoncello on it, which helped a lot.

There are certainly a lot of details like that to take into consideration. That is a great point to bring up. I offer the thoughts above as general inspiration but clearly there are questions like the one you bring up where the most important thing will be working in honest good faith. I don?t know if best practices have emerged around things like that, but I am sure that your job is clearly identified as a fair game. Both boys and girls feel the impact of just a moment’s pleasure, for the rest of their lives.
