Bird of The Future
This weekend the boys took the leftovers from my photo shoot and made the craziest bird! Two pounds of bacon wrapped around a 15-pound turkey slow smoked with applewood in the extra large big green egg. The bacon came off just before the end and was glazed with a scotch-cherry sauce while the bird finished roasting the skin to golden deliciousness. The original simplified recipe will be forthcoming in one of my upcoming columns in Martha Stewart- keep an eye out, you don’t want to miss it!

Oh my! My mouth us watering… My husband will be so pleased – two lbs bacon, smoked turkey and a sherry-glaze! (((Hugh sigh))) Need a napkin to wipe the drool 🙂
