Recipes From Today’s Show: Boy Salads

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: It’s hard to get my boys to eat salads; they’ve got to be big, hearty, and satisfying. Sausage and pepper salad is filled with two kinds of Italian sausage—sweet and spicy—and is tossed with sautéed vegetables and buttery slices of garlic crostini. Then for something quick and filling, crisp Iceberg lettuce wedges are drizzled with my ranch-style Green Goddess dressing and crumbled bacon. My modern ambrosia salad is a twist on the classic fruit salad and uses thick Greek yogurt with tropical fruit. More from the show.

Your show got me to thinking about my Mom’s recipes and I planned a dinner tonight with her salmon cakes,
fresh lemon asparagus and your Iceberg lettuce and cucumber salad with that wonderful Green Goddess dressing. Everyone loved it and I will put that menu
on my list of favorites which I keep in a large three ring binder. I can easily hunt through it to jog my memory re successful menu plans. After 45 years of planning meals for a family, I need a little help with the reminders! I love your show and enjoy seeing your sons in the kitchen with you just as my sons helped me in the kitchen. Thanks for so many wonderful recipes that have made it into the “favorites” binder.
