Recipes from Today’s Show: Sunday Pot Roast

Published by

TODAY on MHTV: Marinating this inexpensive cut of beef in garlic and soy sauce followed by a gentle braise in a stout beer is guaranteed to keep the pot roast moist, tender and pretty much perfect. I love to make this on a Sunday and serve it heaped over buttery noodles. For dessert, I’m making pear crisp; it’s warm, gooey fruit filling strikes a great balance to the crunchy, oat topping. I love that huge enameled braising pan that Lucinda uses. It is perfect for this pot roast and so many other things she does. I wonder who makes it and where I can find it? Anyone have any ideas?

I believe the pan she uses is a Le Creuset enameled cast-iron casserole. Amazon carries it here

I’m SO happy that Mad Hungry is finally back with two shows a day. I hated it when the schedule was changing all the time! I’ve been watching cooking shows and trying recipes for nearly three years. I caught MH by accident one morning and it is the best show on tv!

To me, you, Lucinda, and your family represent everything wonderful in life–inspirational relationships, good ingredients, fail safe recipes, smart meal preparation, delicious food!! (everything too often missing in most television and modern life).

I thank you for all the fantastic dishes my family has enjoyed thanks to your show. I commend your efforts as a mother too–you’ve sure done things right. (I’d faint if my son ever wanted to cook with me or learn how to cook something)!

    With great appreciation, Janet Iokepa

I love the Mad Hungry Show. I am trying to get to the pear crisp recipe and no matter what I do, it keeps taking me to the Martha Stewart Apple Crisp. If anyone can send me Mad Hungry’s Pear Crisp Recipe that would be wonderful!
