Richmond American Made MeetUp + Book Signing

Published by

Hi Everyone,

I’m excited to announce a unique meet up I’m hosting tomorrow for Martha Stewart Living’s American Made celebration.

For those of you not familiar with American Made,  it’s a movement for individuals and communities who have turned their passion for handcrafted, well-designed goods into small businesses in food, fashion, beauty, community, design, crafts, garden, and technology. America has always had a creative and entrepreneurial spirit, which has highlighted our past and will most definitely power our future. We, at Martha Stewart Living, believe in empowering and spotlighting a new generation of entrepreneurs. It’s something that I am personally very passionate about and honored to participate in.

With 2013 being our second year, we are celebrating around the country with MeetUps: gatherings of communities and American Made small businesses in different towns and cities, with Richmond being one of them.

I want to personally invite you to our next MeetUp, at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery this Thursday, May 2nd, from 6-9PM with the RVA Street Foodies to celebrate the best of Richmond, with great beer, great food, and great local artisans. I’ll be there also signing copies of Mad Hungry Cravings— please come out and say hello!

Just like the movement, the American Made MeetUp is for all ages and is an open invitation to small businesses and the local community: spread the word to your favorite local Richmond artisans, small business, crafters, fashion mavens, and beyond!

Don’t forget to stay connected too: check out their Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Website to keep in the know.

Best,
LSQ

Sounds like a wonderful tour. Can’t wait to get some MH news about seeing Lucinda and all the guests we love seeing her cook with back on television.

So nice to meet you last night- looking forward to reading your beautiful book. Kudos!

I think its a wonderful suggestion a person made on the April 26 post. Why not film 5 minute cooking segments with all the people we love from your show and show them on here and on Facebook. It would be great, while we wait ever so patiently for MH to return on a more caring network.

      Hi Bethany,

We wholeheartedly agree and had been playing around about a year or so ago with videos (check out our youtube page at: http://www.youtube.com/madhungrylsq). Once the tour ends we’re going to see what might be the best way to get our fans new content on video.

    Hi Lucinda,

Wonderful new book ! I just watched the video on here “Grande Pizza Omelet”. You mentioned a 4th grade class helped you name it. Was that the class of John Contratti who named it for you? I have to say he has the coolest blog. Hope you can cook some of his recipes together. How much more of the book tour is left?

      Hi Shirley,

Yes, it was his class that helped Lucinda name it, which was such a nice visit.

Lucinda has one week left on the tour (it ends on Saturday), then it’s back to work and new Mad Hungry ideas.

      Best,
      The MH Team

Sounds like the book tour was a success. Thanks, Shirley for sharing Mr. Contratti’s link. It’s the coolest blog. We need more MH ! I like the idea of doing videos (even 5 minute segments that can be edited to show the whole process) and posting them on here, Facebook and Youtube. (New Ones) Also, please bring back Mr. Contratti to cook some of the many terrific dishes he has on his sight. More “Mad Hungry” for all of us. We need Lucinda!!!
